OakVoc is a Firefox Entension, that check new words from online dictionary for you. You can also stored the checked words locally, to have your own small dictionary. OakVoc support multi-language dictionary in same time. The checking is running background.

We support English, Chinese, German dictionary at the moment.

The tip window is movable, sizable and auto-disappeared.

Dictionary Customizing : User can add/modify their favorate online dictionary by themselves. In URL, $$$$ represents the word to be searched. Parser is some javascript statements, which can filter the result before save to local file. variable "html" is raw result, and the variable "ret" is used to return the filtered result.

Vocabulary Management : User can manage their local vocabulary, edit, add, remove, sort...

URL tracing and words export: User can tracing the articles they read, and export words for a review.

Explanation Edit: A WYSWYG Editor for edit explanations.

Tooltip Mode : When mouse moves to a word and stop for some while, OakVoc will be activated automatically. this conflict with other extension which uses Tooltip, like google toolbar. Only single word can be selected.

Double click : double click mouse on the word you want to check .

Select phrase, hold alt+shift and move mouse: First select the word/phase to be checked, hold alt key and shift key while move mouse a little bit.

contextMenu/shift+alt+o :select word/phrase and then use right-click menu or shortcut key.

Input word/phrase after OakVoc activated :Type the word/phrase and press return to start check. You can also click on the icon on status bar.

Enable/Disable OakVoc : If you don't want the Oakvoc affect your normal browsing, just right-click on the icon and on the context menu, see enable/disable.

First check with no explanation :First time when start checking a new word, OakVoc should nothing, the explanation shown after it get them from online dictionary.

https pages can not show tip window: according to the setting of Firefox, please try active Oakvoc second time, it should works..
